St Bride's, Fleet Street is a warm and welcoming Christian community, and one of the most famous and most fascinating historic churches in Central London.

'I am the bread of life' (John 6:48)

Bread has always been a basic and universal food. That is why Jesus uses this image to describe his own purpose. He is the living bread which has come down from heaven. God calls us to live an abundant life, and to delight in what God offers and gives freely. But if this basic food is denied to some in our unequal world, how can we rest easy? What can I do so that others can share the fullness of life to which Jesus points?

Lord God, thank you for all the gifts you give us, and for Jesus, the living bread. May we be moved to share with others so that all may have enough. Amen.
