On Tuesday 18th July, St Bride's held a lunchtime recital to raise funds for the British Red Cross London Fire Relief Fund to help the people of Grenfell Tower.

Several wonderful musicians donated their time and talents for the event and a total of £502.26 was raised, all of which will go to the fund.

We are very grateful to Mine Doğantan and Helen Nelson, Jonatan Bougt, Constance Leung, and Nigel Blomiley for their generosity; all of whom have previously taken part in our free lunchtime recital series.

July 25

'Heaven belongs to such as these.' (Matthew 19:14)

Today's Gospel scene shows Jesus blessing children. They wouldn't have been in their best clothes or on best behaviour. They were probably grubby, and ready for mischief. Jesus accepts and welcomes them as they are. He rejoices in young life, with all its energy, trust and playfulness. Children are open to the enchantment and mystery of the world around them.

Our own baptismal life can transform the tired, jaded adult world and renew us so that we become like little children.

Lord God, help us, your children, to delight in the wonder of your love and live in the freedom and joy of your kingdom. Amen.
