Kevin Fan Yu was born in Taiwan in 1990 and began his musical studies at the age of 10. He was awarded the full scholarship of the Performing Arts Institute in Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School, USA in 2008. In 2008 he moved to the UK to continue his Bachelor Degree at the Birmingham Conservatoire with Scholarship. He was also awarded a scholarship to study for a Master's at the Royal College of Music in London, and the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. He has been selected for the prestigious International Musicians Seminars Prussia Cove in 2012, and has also worked privately with International Tchaikovsky Piano Competition Winner, Peter Donohoe on O. Messiaen's Turangalîla Symphonie.

Kevin graduated with honours in his Bachelor's Degree in 2012, and graduated with distinction in his Master's Degree from the Birmingham Conservatoire in 2014.  He has been selected and awarded two years full scholarship to study at Liszt Ferenc Zeneművészeti Egyetem in Budapest, Hungary. He won the Absolute 1st Prize in 24th "Citta di Barletta" International Young Musicians Competition, 1st Prize in Val Tidone International Piano Competition (2016), 2nd Prize in 2017 Valletta International Piano Competition, 2nd Prize in 15th Euterpe International Piano Competition, 5th Prize plus Special Prize for "J. S. Bach" in 20th "MLADI VIRTUOZI" International Piano Competition, 1st Prize in Renna Kellaway Recital Competition, 1st Prize in Sylvia Cleaver Chamber Music Competition, 2nd Prize in 1st Peter Donohoe Competition, 3rd Prize in Ludlow Philharmonic Concerto Competition, 1st Prize in Birmingham Conservatoire Piano Competition, 3rd Prize in Chandos Young Musicians Competitions, 1st Prize in Leamington Music Competition and 1st Prize in the John Ireland Competition.

He has given solo recitals, concertos and chamber music concerts around the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Hungary, Croatia, Italy, Poland, Vienna, and in several prestigious concert halls including Leipzig Gewandhaus Concert Hall, London South Bank Centre, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Town Hall, CBSO Centre, Adrian Boult Hall, Sheffield City Hall, Warwick Art Centre, Stratford City Hall, Taiwan Kaohsiung Culture Centre Chih- Shan Concert Hall and Kaohsiung Recital Hall, as well as Leamington Music Festival, Honiton Music Festival and Stratford Festival. He has studied piano with Dr. Chih- yu, Chen (the 1st prizewinner of the International J.S. Bach piano competition in Saarbrücken, Germany), Prof. Erika Lux, Prof. Katya Apekisheva, Prof. Margaret Fingerhut, Prof. Noriko Ogawa, Simon Nicholls, Prof. Malcolm Wilson and Anthony Hewitt. At present he is studying the prestigious Meisterklasse Examen degree in both Piano Solo and Piano Chamber Music at the renowned Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig under Prof. Markus Tomas and Prof. Caspar Frantz.

He has had Masterclasses with Andrzej Jasiński, Andrei Gavrilov, Fabio Bidini, Maurizio Moretti, Robert Levin, Thomas Adés, Steven Osborne, Gautier Capuçon, Sontraud Speidel, Mikhail Kazakevich, Andrew Ball, Peter Donohoe, Orit Wolf, William Fong, Ronan O'Hara, Martin Roscoe, Benjamin Frith, James Boyd, Alasdair Tait, The Gould Trio, Wihan Quartet, Schubert Ensemble and the New London Trio.

Born in 1990, Europe-based Taiwanese concert pianist Kevin Fan Yu has performed around the United Kingdom, and in Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Hungary, Croatia, Poland and Taiwan. He was the prizewinner of several international and national piano competitions, including the Citta di Barletta, Val Tidone, Valletta, Euterpe, Mladi Virtuozi, Renna Kellaway, Peter Donohoe and John Ireland competitions. He graduated with Honours and Distinction from the Birmingham Conservatoire and from the Liszt Ferenc Zeneművészeti Egyetem in Budapest. Kevin is now studying for the prestigious Meisterklasse Examen in both Piano Solo and Piano Chamber Music at the renowned Hochschule für Musik und Theater, Leipzig under Prof. Markus Tomas and Prof. Caspar Frantz.
