Born in Taiwan in 1991, Henry Tong came to England to study at the Yehudi Menuhin School with Lutsia Ibragimova, and with David Takeno at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. He has recently completed his Advanced Diploma at the Royal Academy of Music, receiving guidance from Margaret Faultless, Pavlo Beznosiuk and Carole Cerasi.

A passionate chamber musician, Henry has appeared in festivals such as the City of London Festival, the Lake District Summer Music Festival, HARMOS festival in Portugal and IMS Prussia Cove 'Open Chamber Music', and performs regularly with many period ensembles in the UK, including the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Monteverdi Orchestras/Gardiner, the Academy of Ancient Music, and Brecon Baroque. Equally at home on both modern and historical violins, Henry is currently on trial in London for co-principle second violins with the London Mozart Players and a member position with the OAE.

Henry has also appeared as soloist/director with orchestras including the Taipei Symphony Orchestra, London Mozart Players, the NSO Taiwan, the Reuleaux Ensemble, Orquesta Filharmonica de Sonora in Mexico and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. During his studies, Henry has been a recipient of many awards and prizes. He would especially like to thank the Help Musicians Award, the Stephen Bell Trust Award, Mica Comberti Bach Prize, Robert Alva Memorial Prize, the San Martino Scholarship, Regent Scholarship, and is very honoured to have been awarded the Christopher Hogwood prize upon his graduation from the RAM.
