A Space For Silence

Space for Silence.jpg

Weekday evenings from 5 - 6pm

Our lives are often so busy, and the world that we live in so complex, that we are sometimes left feeling disorientated, strangers to ourselves and out of touch with the things that are important in our lives and in the world.

Many of the world's faiths and monastic traditions have long regarded silence as essential to our spiritual wellbeing and over the last fifty years or so various forms of meditation and mindfulness have entered into popular culture.

Science has also provided evidence of the efficacy of silence through the relaxation response involving a lowering of heart rate and blood pressure, slower and deeper breathing and improvements in brain chemistry.

St Bride's church provides a space for silence every weekday evening between 5 and 6pm; a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of Fleet Street and the City of London. You are welcome to join us and come and go as you please.

Commune with your own heart... and be still (Psalm 4:4)
