Harvest Festival

Harvest Festival

Our Harvest Festival service of thanksgiving takes place at 11am on Sunday 20th October. Harvest provides an opportunity to give thanks for all the good things God has given us, to acknowledge those who produce our food, and to reflect on our need to be wise and generous stewards of the earth's resources.

As part of this we are delighted to continue to support the work of Hackney Foodbank, a registered charity founded by local churches and community groups in 2012, working together towards stopping hunger.

We are now accepting foodbank donations at a collection point at the back of church under the dome. Please bring in any offerings before Monday 21st October. Here's a list of what they currently need most.

In 2018, Hackney Foodbank was able to provide 11,450 three-day emergency food parcels - all nutritionally balanced - to people in crisis, with the support of local communities and congregations like ours, as part of a nationwide network of foodbanks working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. Harvest Festival offers us a great opportunity to share what we have with those in need and to be thankful for all that we have been blessed with.

Traditional fresh produce will be on sale at this Sunday's service, beginning at 11am, and all proceeds plus donations to the refreshments plate will be offered to the charity.
