Handel's Messiah (Part 1)

Handel's Messiah (Part 1)

On Sunday 8th December at 5:30pm St Bride's Choir, Orchestra and the Come & Sing Chorus will be performing the first part of one of the most popular works in classical music: Handel's masterpiece, Messiah.

Come and Sing or Come and Listen?

Our performers deserve an audience, so if you would rather sit and soak up the sound of our wonderful musicians in our beautiful Wren church, please Come & Listen - select and buy an 'Audience Only' ticket for £10, which includes a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie afterwards.

For those wanting a more immersive experience, please COME & SING. In the morning, you get to workshop some of the best music out there, then rehearse and perform it standing amongst the professional singers of St Bride's Choir, accompanied by our orchestra.

It's a fantastic opportunity to experience singing in a supportive atmosphere that focusses on the joy and fun of performing amazing choral music.

We will perform Part I of Messiah which tells the story of Christmas, and round off the show with the triumphant Hallelujah Chorus.

St Bride's Organist, Matthew Morley, one of the UK's most experienced chorus masters, together with soprano Nina Bennet, a member of our choir, and a sought-after soloist, ensemble singer and vocal animateur, will be leading our morning workshop. They will guide you through the beauty, thrills and vocal challenges of these iconic Handel choruses.

Who is this experience for?

With the benefit of standing shoulder-to-shoulder with our choir's professional singers, Come & Sing is open to all-comers (aged over 18).

If you have sung in a choir before and love singing (and maybe have time for some YouTube preparation), this event is perfect. Buy a Come & Sing Workshop ticket for your voice part.

If your voice part has sold out, please email to be added to the waiting list.
