The Artist
Paris-born pianist Victoire-Théodora Pruvost knew from a young age that her destiny was music. She currently leads an active performing life both as a soloist and a chamber musician and plays internationally in France, Australia, England, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Germany, Russia, the USA… Some of the most prestigious venues she has performed in include Salle Cortot, Fondation du PSG, Consulat Géneral de New York as an Artist of the French-American Piano Society, Palais de l’Athénée in Geneva for the Arts Society. Her recent summer performances at the Drill Hall Gallery Canberra have been hailed as a ‘triumph’ by AusArtsHub Review.
A versatile artist, she performs in a wide array of genres and formations from intimate chamber music settings to orchestra. She recently obtained her Master’s degree in piano performance with honours from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon in the class of Alain Planès and Jerome Granjon.
In London, she is currently furthering her studies at the Royal College of Music with Gordon Fergus-Thompson. She also receives guidance from esteemed pedagogues such as Ronan O’Hara, Marie-Josèphe Jude, Jean-Claude Pennetier, Stanislav Ioudenitch and William Grant Nabore. This has led her to develop a multi-faceted and powerful style of playing which translates into a deep understanding of the instrument. She is also the recipient of the Dorothy McKenzie Scholarship Award and has been selected as a Young Artist in residences for prestigious festivals such as Art of the Piano, Cincinnati and PianoFest in the Hamptons.
Her ongoing projects include the formation of her long-standing duo with Grace O’Malley with whom she attended the Oxford Lieder Festival Mastercourse and they will be receiving masterclasses from Sarah Connolly. She is currently on the Artist Diploma Course at the Royal College of Music studying with Dina Parakhina and Dmitri Alexeev. Her future projects include a César Franck Festival in Montpellier, performances in London and Europe and the recording of her first CD under the Sheba Collection Label in 2022.
