The Artists

James Pusey is a UK based guitar and sitar player. While studying Jazz Guitar at Leeds College of Music he met Ustad Dharambir Singh MBE, a prominent sitar player and educator, and began studying the sitar and Indian music alongside the guitar. This led to him completing a Master’s degree divided between Jazz and Indian music. He has been studying sitar with Pandit Arvind Parikh since 1999 and visited India many times to learn in the traditional manner. Since then James has gone on to have a successful freelance career which has taken him around the world working on recording sessions, TV and radio shows, tours, West End shows as well as Jazz, Indian and crossover projects.
