The Artist

Hungarian-born keyboard player, Tímea Daradics (b.1997) captivates the attention of her listeners with her elegant, sophisticated and brilliant style. Having keyboard repertory in her hands from the 14th to the 19th century makes her one of the most versatile early music performers of her generation.

Currently based in Basel, Switzerland, she is engaged in medieval and renaissance music while pursuing post-graduate studies at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Corina Marti. She is gaining international recognition, with performances including recitals at the Utrecht Early Music Festival Fringe (NL), Banchetto Musicale Festival (LT), Sumskas Manor Early Music Festival (LT), the Fortepianarium in Zabrze (PL), the Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall (UK) and several other venues across the Netherlands, Switzerland and Hungary. Tímea is founder of the groups Cibus Ensemble and Duo Emea.

Tímea’s aim of being able to master all existing keyboard instruments led her to discover earlier and earlier repertories and instruments. After studying two years with fortepianist Geoffrey Govier and harpsichordist Terence Charlston at the Royal College of Music in London, she completed her Bachelor’s degree at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague, in the fortepiano and harpsichord classes of Bart van Oort, Siebe Henstra and Patrick Ayrton.

Searching for new challenges and her desire to build a versatile and colourful musical identity led her to the prestigious Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, where she worked for her Master’s degree with Corina Marti and Francesco Corti on medieval and renaissance keyboard instruments, harpsichord and organ. During her Master’s program she has been generously supported by the Basel-based Cantilena Stiftung. Tímea is also engaged in the musical education of the new generations as a private teacher and leading educational activities. Along with her teaching, she works as an organist in the Canton of Basel-Landschaft.
