St Bride's: Worship & Ministry

Livery Companies

We are very keen to build and maintain meaningful, reciprocal relationships with a small number of relevant Livery Companies in the City of London. We want to welcome Liverymen and women of all faiths and none to our services and events, both those organized by their companies and others on our busy calendar, offer our support and facilities, and celebrate partnerships with various ancient and modern guilds and industries. In return, we hope that the Companies are willing to assist us financially and in kind, when the need arises.

Worshipful Company of Stationers and Newspaper Makers

stationers.PNG St Bride's relationship with the printed word goes back more than 500 years and its oldest Livery association is naturally with the Worshipful Company of Stationers and Newspaper Makers. Several members of the Guild of St Bride are also Liverymen of the Stationers' Company and, in addition, we host a service every June in memory of Stationer Richard Johnson, work with them on educational projects and make use of their splendid Hall for joint events.

Worshipful Company of Turners

As well as holding their annual Patronal Service at St Bride's in November, the Turners have been the donors of various items of furniture now proudly on display in the church, such as the offertory table and baptismal font.

The Marketors have an on-going St Bride's working group comprising members of both organizations, seeking new ways of working together for mutual benefit, and has always been willing to provide support and advice in a fast-changing world of marketing and publicity.

Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers

spectacle.jpgOur association with the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers began in 2010, when it held its annual Thanksgiving Service here. Since then, in addition to the yearly Service at which the new Master and Wardens are ceremonially installed, we have strengthened our ties with the Company, and members of the Livery are regularly seen at our numerous services and events.
